Privacy Policy for VendingBusiness101.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we collect, use, and store your personal data.
1. Who We Are
Welcome to VendingBusiness101.com (the “Website”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we collect, use, and store your personal data. Our website address is: https://vendingbusiness101.com. The Website and the Vending Business 101 program are operated by Louisiana Vending LLC, Broussard, Louisiana (“we,” “us”). You can reach us at support@vendingbusiness101.com or (337) 257-6275.
2. Information We Collect & How We Use It
2.1 Comments
When visitors leave comments on the Website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
2.2 Media Uploads
If you upload images to the Website, you should avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images.
2.3 Cookies
Our Website uses cookies to enhance user experience. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.
- If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last for one year.
- If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
- Login cookies last for two days, while screen option cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out, login cookies are removed.
- If you edit or publish an article, a cookie containing no personal data will be saved in your browser for one day.
To manage cookies, adjust your browser settings.
2.4 Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if you had visited that website directly. These third-party websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external websites you visit.
2.5 Readiness Quiz results and the starter emails
If you take the free Readiness Quiz (or use the Business Plan Builder) and ask us to email your results, we collect your first name (optional), your email address, your answers and score, the page you used, and the date you opted in. We only email you if you tick the opt-in box.
We use this information to:
- email you your results right away;
- send the Vending Business 101 starter series: four more short emails over the next two weeks (days 2, 5, 9 and 14) about choosing a location, what is inside the member toolkit, how the program started, and the membership options;
- let our team follow up if you have questions. A copy of your sign-up goes to our sales inbox and to our customer records system.
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the series right away. If you take the quiz again later and tick the box again, the series starts over. You can also ask us to delete your sign-up at any time using the contact details in Section 10.
These emails are sent from this website through our hosting provider’s email service (Hostinger), from support@vendingbusiness101.com.
3. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. However, we may share your information in the following cases:
- Legal Compliance: If required by law, subpoena, or government request.
- Password Resets: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email for security purposes.
- Service Providers: We may engage third-party service providers to assist in operating the Website, provided they adhere to data protection requirements.
3.1 The services we use
To run the website, the membership and the member apps, we use these service providers. Each receives only the information it needs for its job.
- WooPayments (powered by Stripe): processes card and wallet payments at checkout. Card details go directly to the payment processor and are not stored on our server.
- MailerLite: if you join our email list through a MailerLite sign-up form, it stores your email address and sends those emails.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads: measure site visits and the results of our ads, using cookies and similar technology, including remarketing (showing our ads to people who visited the site). You can opt out through Google’s Ad Settings and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Our customer records system (hosted on Supabase): stores contact details from leads, quote requests and members so our team can follow up.
- Base44: hosts the member apps and stores the information you enter in them. Base44’s built-in AI services also power AI features in the apps, such as contact research in Location Scout, using the business details involved.
- OpenAI: creates the design images in Wrap Studio. It receives the details you enter for a design (such as your business name, colors and creative brief) and any logo or artwork you upload for that design.
- Google Maps Platform: powers business searches in Location Scout.
- Hostinger and Wordfence: host the website and protect it; this involves processing IP addresses and security logs.
4. How Long We Retain Your Data
- If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely for recognition and approval of follow-up comments.
- For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. Users can edit or delete their personal information anytime (except for changing their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
Member app data. Data you save in the member apps, such as your Location Scout shortlist and saved searches, your deals and contracts, and your Repair Tracker machines, locations and service history, is kept while your membership is active and for 12 months after it ends, so it is still there if you rejoin. About 30 days before the 12 months are up, we email you a reminder. After 12 months we permanently delete that app data. Your account and order history are kept for our business and tax records. Some tools save your work only in your own browser on your device; that data never reaches us, and you can clear it at any time.
Readiness Quiz sign-ups. If you opt in to emails from the Readiness Quiz or the Business Plan Builder, we keep your sign-up (name, email address, results and opt-in date) while the starter series runs and afterwards, so we can honor your unsubscribe and answer your questions, until you ask us to delete it. Our email system keeps a copy of each email it sends for 14 days.
5. Your Rights Over Your Data
Under applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to:
- Access Your Data: Request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request Deletion: Ask us to erase your personal data (excluding data required for legal, administrative, or security purposes).
- Withdraw Consent: If we rely on your consent to process personal data, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@vendingbusiness101.com.
6. Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
7. Data Security
We implement security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our Website is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
9. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this policy regularly.
